The Rapid Covid 19 Test
Each antibody test is designed to identify lgM and lgG antibodies though a finger stick blood drop test. The amount of blood tested is very small, approx 1.5 micro litres (it takes 240,000 drops to fill a cup).
Drive-Through Testing
Using drive-through testing the process tests can be conducted more quickly. People arrive on time or preferably a bit early, they roll down their windows, answer the questions, the doctors conduct the test and they drive off.
Same Day Results
Positive test results are notified by phone before 9pm on the same day. This enables you to ask the medical practitioner questions about next steps. If you have not received a call by 9pm you can assume that your results are negative.
Covid Incubation Period
lgM antibodies appear within 2-5 days of symptom onset and lgG antibodies appear 7-10 days after symptom onset. Hence, it is recommended that tests are performed at least 7 days after possible infection.
Validity
This test was validated using 602 clinically positive and negative patients' blood samples that were confirmed using RT-PCR. Specificity is 97.7% and Sensitivity is 89.4%. If test results and symptoms warrant, a genetic RT-PCR test should also be performed.
Documents Needed
Each person to be tested needs to show a valid drivers license or other State or Federal ID. (As with all Covid testing conducted in Texas positive results for communicable diseases are reportable to the State.)
